Monika has always been a believer in girl power and is inspired to get up everyday and spread the word of self-love and acceptance. Prior to co-founding Epic Sky she was the CEO of Kindred, a Bay Area creative agency, whose focus on creativity and collaboration has solved business challenges for leading brands. During her 20-year career she has led strategic and creative teams to develop compelling experiences and product strategies. She has worked in partnership with LeapFrog, Design Within Reach, Pottery Barn, CamelBak, The North Face and many other brands. Monika is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley. She brings fierce dedication and a go-get-‘em spirit to everything in her life – including family, art and her yoga obsession.

Marian Kwon:  CO-FOUNDER AND CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER

Marian’s passion to create Epic Sky stems from her desire to build a more positive, creative brand experience for girls. She’s dedicated to creating the brand for her daughter and girls just like her.  Marian has built and managed brands for more than 20 years, with a specialty in retail and consumer brands - including Gap, Disney, Smith and Hawken, BevMo!, Pottery Barn and Sur La Table. Her expertise lies in positioning brands and crafting integrated marketing strategies across channels and consumer touch points. Marian has a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from UCLA. In her downtime, she’s loves indulging her pop culture habit, keeping up with her daughter Sophia, and enjoying her husband’s home cooking.

Marybeth Moser:  Chief Merchandising Officer

With a 9-year-old daughter at home, Marybeth is motivated to provide a safe place for girls to shop, explore, connect – and to be their most amazing selves. She is a senior retail executive with extensive merchandising and product development expertise. She was the Vice President of Merchandising and Product Development at Title Nine and has led product teams at Athleta, Gap and Wild Planet Toys. Marybeth has a BA from Boston College and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern. On weekends, you’ll find her trail running, hiking, biking, stand-up paddling or pursuing some sweaty form of fun in her Northern California playground.

During her 15+ years on Wall Street, Isabelle was often the only woman in the room. She sees EpicSky as a platform that gives girls support and inspiration to truly become strong and capable versions of themselves. Isabelle was most recently a General Partner at Crosslink Capital, a leader in integrating public and private investing. She has extensive experience evaluating and advising internet, ecommerce, and digital media businesses including Pandora, Omniture, and ancestry.com, among others. Isabelle has a BA from The University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from UCLA. On weekends, Isabelle enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids on the running trails, bike paths, or baseball fields in her neighborhood.

Melissa Gray:  Content Editor and Social Media

Melissa loves Epic Sky because she gets the chance to work with tween and teen creatives who are building an amazing kind of digital community we’ve never seen before. She loves getting the inside scoop on how the next generation of feminists is going to change the world. Melissa is a writer who has worked in the fashion and blogging industries since she graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has written for Bust magazine, worked as a stylist in vintage retail, and worked with editorial teams at Fantagraphics, and Stylelikeu.com. In her free time she loves writing, art, and constantly learning about fashion and feminism.

Kelly Sparks:  Design Director

Through Kelly’s work with Epic Sky, she hopes to help girls find empowerment through their personal style and spirit. She is an innovative fashion designer, stylist and on-camera video host. With more than 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, she has designed lines for iconic brands and fresh startups – from Bebe and Levi Strauss & Co., to Clary Sage Organics and LUNA Sport – and she’s the former fashion director at Joyus, an e-commerce startup. She has been featured in the New York Times, Women’s Wear Daily, 7×7 Magazine and appeared on Katie Couric’s “Katie” television talk show. Kelly likes to soak up the energy of live music, the power of visual arts and the freewheeling fun of her family.

Lindsey loves being a part of a brand that focuses on making a positive change in the lives of young women. After exhausting her passionate quest to travel the world, Lindsey began pursuing design nine years ago. Creative thinking lies at the heart of all she does – whether it’s cooking a meal, designing a website, wrangling her kids or leading a team. During her career, Lindsey has worked with leading brands, including Bonterra Wines, Fetzer Vineyards, Ahnu Shoes, Camelbak and Matilda Jane Clothing. When she’s not busy cracking the creative code of a brand, she enjoys cooking with friends and family, sitting by an open fire under the stars and hiking in the alpine where the air smells so good.

Rene Sanchez:  Digital Operations Director

Rene has a daughter of his own, so Epic Sky’s mission to provide a community for young girls particularly hits home with him. He has more than 12 years of digital experience in project management, SEO, content marketing, digital paid media and operations management. He previously led the West Coast Digital delivery group at Edelman, and over his career has been responsible for the planning and execution of numerous enterprise and brand initiatives for the likes of Unilever, Nestle, Adobe, Microsoft, PG&E, Dove, Axe, HP and Levi Strauss & Co. When he’s not leading our digital operations, he enjoys playing basketball and ultimate Frisbee, wrestling with his son, rooting for the NY Jets and NY Yankees and binging on Netflix.

Patrick Perreault:  Technology Partner

Inspired by the thrill of building something from the ground up, Patrick has enjoyed creating a shopping experience that truly speaks to Epic Sky’s young demographic. As an expert marketing technologist, he has delivered world-class web and e-commerce digital products for the past 15 years. He helped craft award-winning websites and e-commerce platforms for clients like Ubisoft, Adidas Originals, Cirque du Soleil, FOX, Garnier and the National Hockey League. Prior to joining the Epic Sky team, he was a senior producer for emerging platform projects for Ubisoft and Electronic Arts, and managed the e-commerce practice for Logient. He loves spending time with his two kids, perfecting his front flip dismount on the trampoline.

With two daughters of his own, Kerry finds it inspiring to see their brilliance, imagination and spirit fostered in a way that supports their individuality and independence, while being connected to a brand and a community that affirms them. He has more than 20 years of experience developing creative content, audio and video for the media and entertainment industry. As a media professional, he has expertise in all creative and technical aspects of production. Kerry is the Managing Director and Partner at Kindred and has worked with Pixar, Skywalker Sound, Microsoft, National Geographic, Electronic Arts and MTV. In his downtime, he likes to play music, be outside, hang with friends and make bad jokes.

Elizabeth Rieke:  Philanthropy Advisor

Elizabeth loves the idea of empowering girls to believe in themselves and to become a positive force in their communities. During her 20-year-career she has led strategic teams for companies from consumer packaged goods to museums. She has developed products and concepts for PowerBar, Nike, Gap and Bain & Company. Her focus shifted to giving back and community impact as Chief Marketing Officer of The California Academy of Sciences, and later as founder of the Center for Childhood Creativity. She has a B.S. in journalism from University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA from Dartmouth. Elizabeth loves to ski, hike and play with her super fun three kids.
